    I think Reid Hoffman in particular with LinkedIn and the Youtube folks are the most commonly cited in the Paypal case however as you mentioned, others have gone onto great success. Maybe one not mentioned nearly as often but should be is Scott Banister, founder of IronPort.

    I agree in general with the post. It might just highlight the power of the team and co-working.

    There are a few great companies 'seemingly' started by one person e.g Amazon with Jeff Bezos or eBay with Pierre Omidyar. Whilst they are undoubtedly 'founders', I guess they would probably credit much of their success to the people around them. Specifically in these two startups, people like Jeff Skoll with eBay and Ram Shriram likewise with Amazon, were critical to their success.

    I guess even after a very smart group of people go their own separate ways, as long as they have drive, they probably more often than not repeat some of the success they once had previously.
